Cuba Trip: Part 9 - Varadero - Taking Photos of Classic Cars

We woke up early every morning in Varadero, courtesy of the local roosters. For this reason we were tired and ready to sleep pretty early, especially after spending a full day on the beach swimming, walking and sunbathing. So we couldn't stay up late and go to bars and concert venues to listen to live music.

Instead, we found another way to entertain ourselves after dinner by going to the bay side of Varadero, next to the South Freeway to try and get shots of passing classic and other cars.

Brian ready for cars

When we were early enough we could get the golden glow from the last rays of sun

There was a bus stop next to us where locals flagged down a bus or a car.

One of the local buses

Another type of local bus

Fishermen just few steps away. One of the fishermen came up to us and started talking about fishing, how he cooks fish that he catches and Varadero of present and the past.

It was the only time when a Cuban approached to talk to us without any intent other than just to talk. It was very nice.

It was cool when we got a shot with people in the car looking at us.

Plenty of colors even gold and silver!

Some unusual looking cars

Few old Russian cars, not in very good shape

We usually stayed until the last rays of sun and enjoyed the gorgeous sunsets.
